This Pokémon team planner covers every generation from Gen 1 through Gen 9 through 22 selectable modes. Pick the game first, and the builder loads that mode's configured Pokédex and the type chart for its generation. You can then add six Pokémon, inspect shared weaknesses and STAB coverage, and copy a link to the finished draft.
“All generations” does not mean every game ever released. MonTeams covers the main-series generations and selected additional modes listed below. It does not include every spin-off, fan game, or ROM hack, and it does not pretend that a species appearing in a game's full dex guarantees an early-story catch.

Why the game picker matters
A full-series Pokédex can produce an attractive team that does not fit the game you are playing. The game picker narrows the planning pool to the configured dex for that mode. It also applies the relevant generation's type chart, so early-generation teams are not silently judged by modern matchups.
This makes the planner useful for comparing the same idea across generations. A favorite-only Kanto team, a Platinum story party, and a Scarlet/Violet draft may share names, but they do not share the same available pool or type environment.
What the planner checks
- Party composition: add, remove, and replace up to six members.
- Defensive typing: see shared weaknesses, resistances, and immunities.
- STAB coverage: see which defending types your members' own types can hit super effectively.
- Generation context: use the type chart associated with the selected mode.
- Game-mode dex: choose from the species configured for that title.
- Random teams: fill six from the selected mode, then repair the worst type holes.
- Shareable drafts: store the game and party in the URL without an account.
What the planner does not check
The tool is intentionally a type-first planner, not a complete battle simulator. It does not select moves, abilities, items, EVs, IVs, Natures, or format-specific rules. It also does not show exact routes, story checkpoints, or whether every species is obtainable before the Pokémon League.
Use it to choose the six and expose type problems. Verify detailed catch timing, version restrictions, movesets, and competitive legality separately when those details affect the run.
How to use the all-generations team planner
- Open the game picker. Choose the exact title or paired-version mode.
- Add your fixed favorites. Start with the starter and any must-use party members.
- Read defense first. Look for an attacking type that threatens three or more members.
- Add an answer. Prefer a resistance or immunity that also brings a new STAB type.
- Fill the remaining slots. Keep replacing one member at a time until the largest red stacks shrink.
- Copy the URL. Save or share the exact game mode and six-member draft.
Use the right scope
Choose HOME when you want a broad full-dex planning canvas. Choose a named game when you want its configured dex and generation context. A HOME fantasy team and a cartridge story team answer different questions.

Does this Pokémon team planner support every generation?
Yes. The game picker includes modes from Generation 1 through Generation 9. Each mode loads its configured Pokédex and the type chart used for that generation.
Does the planner include every Pokémon game?
No. It covers 22 configured modes across the main series plus selected modes such as Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon XD, Pokémon HOME, and Pokémon Champions. It does not claim to support every spin-off, fan game, or ROM hack.
Does the Pokémon team planner require a download?
No. It runs in a web browser. Choose a game, build a team, check type coverage, and copy the shareable URL without installing an app or creating an account.
Does the planner check moves and abilities?
No. It checks species typing, shared defensive weaknesses, resistances, immunities, and STAB coverage. Moves, abilities, items, stats, and format-specific legality remain outside its scope.
