How to use a Pokemon type coverage calculator

1. Start with the types you actually attack with

Pick the STAB types in a core, or the types represented by the moves you plan to carry. A type appearing on the team is not automatically coverage unless it can attack for that type.

2. Find the target types you miss

Look for rows that stay at 1×, ½×, or 0×. A gap does not mean a team is unusable; it tells you where a fourth move, teammate, or alternate form may help.

3. Test the complete party in context

Open the game-specific builder to compare defensive weaknesses, shared resistances, and STAB reach across all six slots.

Pokemon type coverage calculator FAQ

What does Pokemon type coverage mean?

It is the range of defending types your attacking types can hit for super-effective damage. This calculator shows the best type-chart multiplier for every target.

Is this a damage calculator?

No. It does not calculate HP, stats, EVs, abilities, items, or damage rolls. It is a fast type-chart check; use the team builder for party-level analysis.

Can this check dual-type Pokemon?

Yes. Use Offense mode's dual-type target scan to check all 153 type pairs, or use Defense mode to select up to two defending types and see combined weaknesses, resistances, and immunities.

How do I check a full Pokemon team?

Choose a game in the Pokemon Team Builder, add up to six available Pokemon, then read the defense and offense boards beside the Pokedex.
